Dressing Up Your Bakery For Halloween
My all-time favorite holiday is Halloween. I usually spend months coming up with my costume idea and I’m proud to admit I’ve never repeated a costume. So when it came to dressing up bakery treats, my Halloween passion shifted into hyper drive.
I started with three different dessert formats and created designs that range in skill level and execution time. So whether you’re filling up your bakery case for grab ‘n go purchases or looking for a unique Halloween party cake, I’ve got you covered.
Halloween Mega Cookie
Perfect for school parties or any kid-themed Halloween celebration, this jumbo message cookie highlights the popular character Miguel with the Coco Remember Me PhotoCake® Image, simple Neon Bright Purple piping, and Neon Quins. It looks amazing, but you could easily whip out a bunch of these in no time.
Jazzy Jack-o-lantern Cupcakes
These spooktacular cupcakes feature fun vibrant colors. Short on time? Not to worry. These boo bash worthy treats are quick and easy to make thanks to our Halloween Fusion Sprinkle Mix and Pumpkin Silhouette Cupcake Rings.
Uniquely Spooky Unicorn
Who says Unicorns don’t dress up for Halloween? Certainly not me. This show-stopping party cake offers a ghoulishly fresh twist our Unicorn DecoSet. The cake is covered in black fondant; the ears are outlined in fondant, too. For the mane I used the variegated bag technique with Neon Purple and Neon Orange and added Neon Bright Green accents with a Star Tip. For extra spooky kookiness, the mane includes Small Spider Layons, Scary Eyeballs Dec-Ons and Bone Deco-Ons. Other Unicorn “costumes” you might way to consider: Frankenstein, Vampire or even a Halloween Princess.
One of the best things about Halloween is how it easily goes in any direction from cutesy to creepy or gory to grown-up. The key is to let your creativity roam like kids trick or treating for candy, and remember to “think outside of the pumpkin.” ![]()
ABOUT THE DECORATOR
Hey there, it’s Angie. Designing birthday cakes is super fun for me because birthdays are a huge deal in my world. In fact, my boyfriend and I don’t celebrate any other holidays. I’ve been decorating cakes for as long as I can remember. First with my Mom, who was big into cutting up sheet cakes into cool shapes and characters, and then in the pastry program at culinary school. I always wanted to work with food and make a living doing art, and that’s exactly what I get to do every day as a cake designer and decorator at DecoPac.
